EventSentry is a proactive, real-time monitoring solution that falls in the category of security-related software applications. Thanks to its numerous features and modular design it can deal with all sorts of scenarios, including compliance, health monitoring and troubleshooting. EventSentry Light is the freeware version of EventSentry.

The good thing is that you can use EventSentry Light free of charge for as long as you want. The bad thing is that EventSentry Light does not come with all the bells and whistles that make the full version an interesting application.

Log file monitoring: monitor just 1 non-delimited text file
System health: system health package, service and driver monitoring, application scheduler, event log backup, full event log detection, process memory monitoring, disk space monitoring, directory size monitoring, software monitoring, performance monitoring, file change monitoring.
Other features: maximum 2 groups, process messages that occur during a server/workstation boot, no server restart required after service installation, configuration changes do not require a service restart, remote update, receive Syslog messages from remote Unix/Linux computers, view remote event logs in management application, environment monitoring, heartbeat monitoring.
